The 2012 Trollope Mining Services golf day was held at the Kempton Park Golf Club on Thursday the 11th of October. The aim was to raise more money than the golf day held in 2010, while having a lot of fun in the process!
With registration completed and a full field of 124 players ready, the siren rang at 12:00 to indicate the start of the game.
Each hole was a designated watering hole, sponsored by a selection of our loyal suppliers and clients. The very capable drinks cart girls kept the players well hydrated and the ‘policewoman’ did a fine job of collecting additional donations from players not abiding by the rules.
The evening’s festivities kicked off with skits by Ferdinand Rabie and great entertainment was provided by Andries Vermeulen.
After a very successful auction, together with the cash contributions by the ‘police’, Trollope Mining Services managed to raise R 307,000 for the Thabang Children’s Project in Thabazimbi.
The Thabang Children’s Project is a NPO that aims to help children affected by poverty or HIV. The Project hosts a range of programs including a child and youth centre as well as a house of safety for neglected and abused children, catering for babies and children up to the age of 5.
Should you wish to obtain further information about the Project please visit their website at www.thabang.org.
Trollope Mining Services would like to thank all those involved in making this day such a great success.
