Shareholding
The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mvelaphanda Group. The group is now South Africa's pre-eminent broad based, black-controlled, owned and managed diversified group, and the only large services player in South Africa with these credentials.
BEE Policy
The company has adopted a BEE policy that corresponds to its group policy and has been accredited by the SAMPPF during April 2005. The accreditation process confirms the status of Trollope Mining Services in terms of BEE as Black owned.
The company's corporate practices will be based on the principle of equality irrespective of race, gender, religion, language, origin or physical circumstance. We are committed to eliminating discrimination in any form and have implemented an employment equity plan with set targets, including affirmative action in all activities and tolerance of all cultures represented in the workforce.
Our strategy is to focus on employment equity and the promotion of business equity through procurement practices. There is a management development plan in place for black and potential managers and the transference of skills to black staff. Black participation in the governance structures of the Company is also being encouraged. The company has made numerous advances in respect of these issues.
Employment Equity
The company is committed to empowerment at all levels of its operations and is proud of its empowerment credentials. Furthermore the company is increasingly concentrating on affirmative procurement to further advance business equity and increase the percentage of goods and services procured from black empowered companies.
Several other skills development initiatives were introduced by the group, in which the company's employees will benefit. This is over and above current in-house training and skills development programs initiated by the company.
