REHABILITATION CONTRACTS

MODDERFONTEIN & GROOTVLEI MINES (Petrex)

The Modderfontein and Grootvlei opencast mining projects, situated in the Benoni and Springs areas, was concluded from 1999 - 2005.

Trollope Mining Services successfully completed these contracts for Petrex at the former Modderfontein Gold Mine. Additional screening of material for recycling was also carried out at various sites in the vicinity.

These operations resulting in significant cost savings for Petrex. By the conclusion of the Petrex contracts five opencast pits were completed.

Currently a Drainage and Rehabilitation Project are being conducted at the West Pit 1 Site.
