  • Employee training to improve knowledge of the Safety, Health and Environmental risks;
  • Effectively controlling all forms of pollution.

Contributing to the long-term economic and institutional social development of all employees and the communities within which the operation is located.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Each employee is expected to actively participate in and take ownership of the SHE policy goals and objectives;
  • Line management will be accountable for implementing the SHE policy;
  • Senior management will be visibly committed and actively supportive of the SHE policy.

SKILLS DEVELOPMENT & TRAINING

The company is fully committed to the process of Skills Development and compliant to the Skills Development and Employment Equity Acts. With mining operations being our core business, our focus is on productivity, therefore committed to training and development of our workforce. With up to date theoretical knowledge and practical experience as their foundational tools, our workforce is geared to provide the best possible service to our clients, whilst being highly productive and efficient in the process.

The Company utilizes the services of chosen Labour Brokers for the provision of their labour staff. There is no compromise in terms of quality and ongoing training is provided for both permanent and labour broker staff productivity, with reduced timelines and reduced errors.

A Skills Audit gauges the preference of the employees in terms of self-development. Despite their relatively low educational levels, employees chose hands-on training instead of ABET training that would improve them in their present positions e.g.: Operator Training, Driver Training, Welding, Boiler making, etc.

Ongoing training ensures their work knowledge and experience is always current and valid. This philosophy of training and development keeps us abreast of current trends and makes Trollope Mining Services the partner of choice in the mining industry.
