OPENCAST MINING AND REHABILITATION CONTRACTS 2001 - 2005

SAMANCOR (Div of BHP Billiton Properties (Pty) Ltd)

A Rehabilitation contract was carried out for Samancor on the farm, Swartkop in the Northam (Northwest Porovince) district during 2004 / 2005.

The rehabilitation executed involved the following:

• Demolishing of structures;
• Dozing down of rock dumps;
• Excavating and backfilling of sinkholes;
• Storm water drainage;
